Article on the virtues of a lazy marriage

This is a piece I’ve written for Woman & Home about the virtues of a lazy marriage. Frankly, I’m a bit lazy about most aspects of my life – I’m the sort of person who won’t bother changing channels if I can’t find the TV remote, but marriage is something that we’re constantly told we need to ‘work on’.

Ben Affleck, for example, said in his Oscar acceptance speech: “I want to thank you [wife Jennifer Garner] for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It’s good, it is work, but it’s the best kind of work, and there’s no one I’d rather work with.”

Which seems like an undeniable truth, but it didn’t work out that well for them (he’s rumoured to have been working quite hard on the nanny too) so perhaps there’s a lazier way.
